For Union County residents and visitors, Warinanco Park has been a place where memories are made, and a place where I personally learned to skate.
The new Warinanco Park Sports Center retains the ice skating rink of years past as the centerpiece of a new facility, highlighted by a modern, airy multipurpose room for dining, relaxing and socializing.
With the vision of year-round activities in mind, the new Sports Center includes conference rooms and an open area and indoor turf field that can be used for other sports in warm weather.
The new Sports Center is among the many upgrades to Warinanco Park, including: construction of a track and field in 2014; a playground and sprayground in 2016; and an accessible viewing platform on the lake in 2017; and a new Dog Park in 2018, directly behind the skating rink.
The park has also seen environmental improvement with the help of local volunteers, including the creation of a butterfly garden, the recovery of a buried stream and restoration of the beloved Chatfield and Azalea gardens.
Together, these upgrades are a testament to the Freeholder Board’s commitment to ensure that our residents and visitors can enjoy the best in modern, up-to-date resources for our residents.
Enjoy your visit, and please come back often.
